Weekly Update: November 13, 2024
Word from the Pastor:
Hey folks, sorry this is coming to you so late this week, but I hope it finds you wrapping up your week in peace while enjoying this little shot of cooler weather. I just wanted to drop a line, to possibly provoke some thought: What if...now hear me out, this is going to sound very extreme, but what if, we decided, that Jesus, not church history, not systematic theologies, no fancy interpretation, but Jesus had the place of Lordship and therefore allowed his words to take priority over any previously held beliefs? As we enter into the final two weeks of our teaching on the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus' words are so plain and clear, that it is almost difficult to create a sermon around them. But I wonder if all of our "theological baggage" has deafened our ears to what Jesus actually said. As we enter the final two weeks, I want to challenge us to invite the Holy Spirit to give us ears to hear the words of the man we claim as Lord, and then have the audacity to follow him.
See you Sunday!
